PEO

PEO1:  Prepare graduates with a solid foundation in electronics and communication engineering.

PEO2: Develop technically competent graduates with ability to analyze, design, develop and implement electronic systems.

PEO3: To produce graduates with sufficient breadth in electronics and its related fields so as to enable them to solve general engineering problems.

PO1: Exhibit the knowledge of differential equations, vector calculus, complex variables, matrix theory, probability theory, physics, chemistry and basics of electrical and electronics engineering.

PO2: Identify, formulate and solve Electronics & Communication Engineering problems.

PO3: Design Electronic circuits and conduct experiments with Digital and Analog discrete components and integrated circuits.

PO4: Design, verify and validate the digital and analog Electronic systems using simulation software and its implementation on real time applications.

PO5:  Visualize, analyze and model complex engineering problems with multidisciplinary tasks using appropriate advanced processors and design tools.

PO6:  Understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global and societal context.

PO7: Recognize the impact of engineering solution in legal, cultural and environmental contexts and need for sustainable development.

About the Department

The department of ECE, Dr.AIT was established in the year 1982 with intake of 60 and later came under grant-in-aid scheme of Government of Karnataka in 1992. Presently the UG course is of intake 180. The department obtained academic autonomous status under VTU, Belagavi in the year 2010-11 and also accredited by NBA, New Delhi since 2004. The laboratories in the department are well equipped with good infrastructures. Department is recognized as a research centre under VTU and obtained around Rs. 35 Lakhsfor R & D Activities from VTU and AICTE.  The PG course M.Tech in VLSI Design and Embedded System was started in 2003-04 with the intake of 18 running under ECE Department. The department has interaction with reputed organizations like IISc, NAL, BHEL, WIPRO, LRDE, DRDO, C-DoT and various Seminars, Workshops, FDPs and SDPs conducted for students and Staffs under TEQIP-II

                        The Department has well experienced staff members of having average experience of 12 years. Presently Dr. K. M. Rajanna isheading the department. The department has 7 doctoral degree holders who are actively involved in the research and development activities in the field of Cryptography, Power Electronics, VLSI and Embedded Systems, Communication, Image Processing etc. Facultiesare the members of prestigious professional bodies like IEEE, IE(I),ISTE, IETE, SSI, ISSS, CRSI and CSI. IEEE and IETE Students Chapter has been setup. Students have participated and won prizes in intercollegiate technical Activities.

Board of Studies

BOS is a committee consisting of Internal and External Subject Experts along with university Nominee, Professionals from IISc and IIT Madras, Industry persons from DRDO, TCS, etc, Alumni and Student representative of Pre-Final and Final year are also part of the BOS committee. The inputs of all the committee members are considered in the design of curriculum and Syllabus of various courses of the department.
