The department of Telecommunication Engineering was established in the year 1989. The department is headed by Dr.Yamuna Devi,  Ph.D (Wireless Sensor Networks). The faculty members of the department include three doctorates and thirteen Post Graduates, all are pursing PhD.

About the Department

The department of Telecommunication Engineering was established in the year 1992. The department is headed by Dr. Yamuna Devi C.R, PhD (Wireless Sensor Networks). The faculty members of the department include three doctorates and thirteen Post Graduates, all are pursing PhD. The department offers UG program in Telecommunication Engineering, M Tech in Digital Communication & Networking, M Sc (Engineering) and Ph. D programs by research. The UG program is under autonomous scheme under Visvesvaraya Technological University. The department Research & Development centre is recognised by Visvesvaraya Technological University. Currently, the department is working on AICTE sponsored projects to the tune of Rs. 30,00,000/-. The department is having well qualified, experienced and doctorate faculty members. The department laboratories are equipped with the state of the art equipment and software tools. The department has got accredited by NBA and also certified by ISO 9001-2008. The department has been allocated 1.2 crores under TEQIP Phase-II for the improvement of PG program and research activities. Presently, there are ten research scholars pursuing their Ph.D in the department. Two PG students have secured university ranks. The department has already conducted 4 conference and several training programs for faculty and research scholars.

PEO 1: Graduates will have sound knowledge of Telecommunication – Core and ElectiveCourses offered to enable them to have successful Technical Careers.

PEO 2: Graduates will imbibe leadership qualities to evolve as Team leaders/Managers in Communication and allied fields.

PEO 3: Graduates will exhibit qualities of a Telecommunication Engineer with Social Consciousness and Professional norms and Ethics.

PEO 4: Graduates will pursue Higher Education and carry out Research that would lead to Innovation.

PO

PO1: Graduates will demonstrate knowledge of basic engineering sciences and core Engineering subjects.

PO2: Graduates will demonstrate an ability to identify, and solve Communication and electronic design engineering problems.

PO3: Graduate will conduct multidisciplinary laboratory experiments and design Linear and non-linear Components for Telecommunication and electronic systems.

PO4: Graduates will design and simulate analog and digital system modules with the usage of latest modern hardware and software tools.

PO5: Graduates will understand the need and impact of telecommunication engineering concepts and solutions in a global and societal context.

PO6: Graduates will acquire the need to apply Professional engineering ethics and norms to understand and deliver telecommunication solutions.

PO7: Graduates will exhibit good Communication skills both in presentation and documentation.

PO8: Graduates will be aware of the impact of telecommunication engineering products and services in the society.

PO9: Graduates will work efficiently in diverse projects as a team leader and in the management of project finances.

PO10: Graduate will inculcate the confidence for self study and a quest for continuous lifelong learning.
