The Boys Hostel Ananda Bhavan is situated in
Dr.AIT campus. It has a main block and a separate
kitchen / dining block. The hostel has 114
spacious, well ventilated and fully furnished
rooms. Each room can accommodate two students.
There is both South Indian and North Indian Mess.
A spacious dining hall accommodates 100 students.
The hostel has a bore-well and two water storage tanks
of 10,000 liters capacity ensuring 24-hour water supply. Aqua-Guards are installed in
each floor to provide pure drinking water to the students. Two solar water heaters of
capacity 4,000 litres and 2,000 litres are installed which provide 24-hour hot water
bathing facility for students.
There is a reading room for convenient browsing of periodicals and newspapers by the students,
and a sports hall for indoor sports activities. The hostel has a recreation hall well equipped
with recreation facilities. The hostel has a generator to meet the power requirements during
power cuts. There is also parking arrangement with security for about 100 vehicles.
The Girls Hostel, Chetana, is situated in
Basaveshwaranagar, a safe residential area, with
all the amenities. It is about 7 kms from the
Dr.AIT campus and easily accessible by BMTC and
our Institute buses. Currently it accommodates 84 students. There is a proposal to construct a new
hostel, for the girl students near the campus
itself. A new hostel is set at Ist Block,
Rajajinagar, that can house about 30 students.
In the campus good infrastructure for outdoor
sports exists in the form of Cricket playground,
Volleyball Court and Basketball Court. Also the sports
complex has Shuttle Badminton Court, Table Tennis,
Chess, Carrom facilities.Students are encouraged to participate in
intercollegiate sports activities.
STUDENTS ACHIEVEMENTS
2003-2004
Mr. Dev Darshan of VII sem I.S.E. was the captain for V.T.U. Table tennis team and they secured runner
up place in All India Inter University Table tennis championship.
Swaroop T. of IV sem Computer Science secured four silver
medals in V.T.U. Athletic meet. The events
are 100mts , 400mts, 800mts and long jump.
Our college football team secured runner up place in U.V.C.E. foot ball tournament.
This year we organised the V.T.U.
table tennis zonal and Inter zonal and coaching camp for the
V.T.U.
table tennis team.
Mr. Rudalf Sunny secured Ist
place in best physique competition ( 65 Kgs ) conducted by V.T.U. and
Mr. Dinesh Shetty secured IInd
place in best physique competition conducted by
V.T.U.
S. P. Vishaka of Mechanical Department and Lal Rinuma of V sem Computer Science secured IInd
place in power lifting competition organised by
V.T.U.
Ms.Swetha N. (Telecomm. Engg.) is an Athletic Champion
at University and National level.
