Students  visits are arranged to various industries like cement industry, waste management units, bridges and fly over construction sites etc. so that  knowledge of the students is upgraded. Staff is also involved in consultancy work like design of structures, Soil investigation, Material testing etc. and have been retained as consultants by premier agencies like Karnataka Land Army Corporation.

Cisco Networking Local Academy has been setup to train the students in computer networking and to acquire globally recognized CCNA certification. The department is also having MoU with Oracle Corporation of India for providing workforce development program. The department is hosting Oracle Workforce Development Program  - certification from Oracle university. The course is scientifically designed by Oracle to produce more technical base in RDBMS. With these facilities students of various branches of engineering carry out in-house projects.
